{"id":4408,"date":"2024-02-28T07:22:15","date_gmt":"2024-02-28T07:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/vartotoju-teises\/kelione-vandens-transportu\/"},"modified":"2024-02-29T13:42:47","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T13:42:47","slug":"travel-by-sea","status":"publish","type":"rights","link":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/rights\/travel-by-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel by sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Passenger rights when travelling by sea are governed by Regulation\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/LexUriServ\/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2010:334:0001:0016:EN:PDF\">1177\/2010\u00a0<\/a>(on the rights of passengers when travelling by sea and inland waterway), which entered into force on 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0December 2012.<\/p>\n<h3>The Regulation applies to passengers travelling<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>on passenger services where the port of embarkation is situated within the territory of a Member State<\/li>\n<li>on passenger services where the port of embarkation is situated outside the territory of a Member State and the port is disembarkation is situated in the territory of a Member State, provided that the service is operated by an EU carrier<\/li>\n<li>on a cruise where the port of embarkation is situated in the territory of a Member State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Regulation guarantees the following rights for passengers:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In cases of cancellation or delay of more than 90 minutes at departure \u2013\n<ul>\n<li>Reimbursement or rerouting<\/li>\n<li>Assistance, to include snacks, meals, refreshments, and where necessary accommodation for up to three nights, with a cost of up \u20ac80 per night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In situations of delay in arrival or cancellation of journeys \u2013\n<ul>\n<li>Compensation of between 25% and 50% of the ticket price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Protection for people with a disability or reduced mobility \u2013\n<ul>\n<li>Assistance, free of charge, at port terminals and on board ships<\/li>\n<li>Financial compensation for loss of or damage to mobility equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The right to information\n<ul>\n<li>Passengers must be provided with information on their rights both before and during their journey; general information about their rights must also be provided in terminals and on board ships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Complaint handling \u2013\n<ul>\n<li>Carriers and terminal operators must have a complaint handling mechanism available to all passengers<\/li>\n<li>Independent national bodies must be established in each Member State to ensure the enforcement of the Regulation and, where appropriate, the application of penalties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"iawp_total_views":2},"rights-category":[113],"class_list":["post-4408","rights","type-rights","status-publish","hentry","rights-category-travel-by-other-transport"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rights\/4408","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rights"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/rights"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rights\/4408\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4409,"href":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rights\/4408\/revisions\/4409"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4408"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"rights-category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/ecc.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rights-category?post=4408"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
